The neighborhood community of Amhurst is located in the southwest corner of St Louis Park in Ward 3. Amhurst occupies an area of 52.2 acres with a population of 450 residents. Amhurst is bordered by West 36th Street to the north, Highway 7 to the south, Highway 169 to the east, and the city of Minnetonka to the west. The neighborhood of Amhurst is a planned townhouse community developed in 1980 with 276 townhomes. Amhurst is a beautiful and well-maintained community with a strong sense of community among residents.

 

Amhurst is an excellent community offering beautiful scenery, friendly neighbors, plenty of amenities, and a safe environment. Amhurst features mature trees, fruit trees, 2 ponds, walking paths, a pool, tennis courts, and a dog run. Amhurst is known as “A Village in the City” because of it’s secluded feel while still being just minutes away from numerous of amenities. The community is only 20 minutes from downtown Minneapolis and just minutes away from numerous shopping, dining, and entertainment options. The community of Amhurst offers the perfect blend small town and city living.

 

Residents of the neighborhood have access to numerous shopping, dining, and entertainment options including the Shops at Knollwood. The ShopsTheatre at Shops at West End in St. Louis Park, Minnesota at Knollwood offer a wide range of stores and restaurants and are dedicated to providing an excellent experience for all customers. Some of the amenities within Knollwood include Cub Foods, Kohl’s, TJ Maxx Homegoods, Old Navy, DSW Shoe Warehouse, and Foss Swim School. Dining options include Applebee’s, Panera Bread, Leeann Chin, Subway El Patron, and Caribou Coffee. Other amenities in the area include Target, Walgreens, Dollar Tree, Big Lots, and Pizza Luce.

 

Although the neighborhood does not have any parks, residents can enjoy numerous parks in surrounding communities.

 

 

Aquila Park: A park is located 5 minutes northeast of Amhurst offeringAquila Park in St. Louis Park, Minnesota numerous recreational options. Aquila Park features a softball field, football field, basketball courts, 8 tennis courts, horseshoes, and playground equipment. The park is also home to trail system allowing hiking, biking, and running. Residents are also provided picnic shelters that can be rented out for various events.

 

 

Louisiana Oaks Park: A park is located 6 miles east of Amhurst in theSign of Louisiana Park in St. Louis Park, Minnesota Oak HIll neighborhood. This park features a play structure, pavilion, picnic tables, restrooms, and sports options. There are soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and a sledding hill for the winter months. The walking and cross country ski trails are popular year round.
